I'm pretty sure there are a few threads here asking almost the exact same question... I do not worry too much about brands, but recommend krill oil with astaxanthin and phosolipids.

Why drain it? I pour the oil that the sardines are packed in on my salad with the sardines for a dressing.

What are the best eggs to buy? I know pastures and bug fed are ideal according to PaleoApproved. This raises the omega 3 ratio. Can't find bug fed eggs in NYC. But flaxseed fed pastured also have high omega 3. Discuss.

The omega-3 in commercial flax-fed eggs usually has alpha linoleic acid (ALA) which isn't well used by humans -- conversion to usable omega 3 is low. Obviously pastured eggs are the best. When I can't get them I go for free range, and up my... (more)

Anyone know how many grams of o3 are in a cut of grass-fed ribeye? I'm trying to adjust my omega 3 intake from fish oil on days where I eat the steaks. I already adjust it when I eat fish.

The benefit of grass-fed beef is that the ratio of o3 to o6 is better, not that there's a lot of o3 (compared to oily fish). The WAPF folks say: One of the claims made for grass-fed beef is that the fat from grass-fed animals is much... (more)

When your diet mainly consists of grain fed meats containing omega 6, what can you do to counteract the effects and add enough omega 3's to make a healthy ratio?

You're going to need to get some omega-3 fats from somewhere since your meat isn't going to have much of them. It isn't an issue of needing omega-3 to balance out your omega-6 intake, you just need some omega-3 in there somehow. Fish is a good... (more)
