People criticize paleo for a lot of reasons. What tenets do people bash the most, or most frustratingly, in your experience?

Anything related to replacing a modern doctor. If you do XYZ, you'll never have to see a doctor again! If I break a bone, I don't care how much coconot oil I eat, or how much bacon grease I rub on it, things wont get better until I go to a... (more)

Somewhat new to paleo. I usually get paleokits online, but now I'm curious about Pro Bar Meal Replacement bars. They're supposedly 100% organic. Would this be acceptable on a paleo diet? Just curious as to how healthy and tasty (if at all) they... (more)

good answers. @justinz - you didn't come off snarky at all. And yes, with my limited eating time I often went across the street to Chick-fil-a and gained 30+ lbs in the time I was off paleo (about ten months) . I couldn't work out either because... (more)

No, I don't think it's sad at all. Different people want different things. Some people like to see their abs, some people like to eat junk-food. In a parallel universe, some guy on some donut-worshipping forum might be asking a question to his... (more)

I was recently investigating chlorella as a possible food source. The science behind it looked promising, initially. Lots of pubmed studies claiming an array of health benefits. NASA was studying this as a food source for astronauts, Russians used... (more)

It is popular to see serotonin as a 'happy hormone'. Often enough, when food makes one happy, it is said to raise serotonin. 5-HTP and similar supplements are regularly used to improve mood and sleep. Ray Peat says the opposite, and I believe the... (more)

My view on IF is that 1) it's "intermittent" not "scheduled"; that is, if I miss lunch or dinner because I'm busy, then that's a fast and because I'm metabolically adjusted, it's not the end of the world to miss a meal and 2) you should only do it... (more)
