Are nuts important to buy organic? I only eat a handful of raw brazil and mac nuts daily, but can't find organic ones, so I get them from the grocery store.. Bad?

Try for raw nuts that you can soak/dehydrate/sprout at home. Soaking of the nuts helps in decreasing phytic acid present in the nuts, which helps in improving nutrient uptake and digestibility. I personally have experienced that soaking helps... (more)

Another one is - if it is REALLY fresh, there will be sap exuding from the bottom of the stalk. If the bottom of the stalk is dry and woody - it is getting on in age!

Canola is the result of selective plant breeding, no genetic modification. There is however Roundup Ready Canola, but that would not be organic.
