Yes you should be eating more. If you want to increase your metabolic rate though you need physical activity. Phil Campbell and Doug Mcguff both have good advice on the subject if you YouTube them.

Fruit should not be a problem in moderation. It may, in fact, allow you to feel more comfortable with your meals in general. If you do have sugar addiction issues, that would be a different story.

Cholesterol in food does not equal cholesterol in the blood. If her cholesterol is high she probably has a lot of inflammation, and she NEEDS the fat to heal.
