My daughter and I both experienced pretty bad abdominal pain/ache with MCT oil, no matter how small the dose. (She was using in coffee, I was putting it in smoothies). We gave up on it and just have coconut oil instead.

Sounds like a gastrointestinal issue. Maybe gastritis or stomach irritation? You be surprised that is can cause all of those symptoms, including the back pain.

I had serious joint issues -- cutting out modern wheat and sugary foods made the biggest difference for me. It did take several months. I eat way more meat, and way more saturated fat (meat, butter, duck fat, you name it), than I used to.

I'd wager it is something else entirely, not related to vitamin D. Simply because vitamin D as supplemented is not the bioactive form.

You're describing a place on your abdomen which is known as "McBurnie's point". Tenderness there if you press on it is a classic diagnostic test for appendicitis. See a doctor to rule that out.
