Last year and most recent blood work shows my total cholesterol as 209 (9 pts above "normal" level). Should I be concerned? I don't know how this could be because I eat strict paleo, only nuts, avocado, veggies, fruit, and lean meat every day!!!... (more)

You definitely should not be worried about that cholesterol. Total cholesterol levels between 200 and 240 correlate to the lowest mortality rate.

Regardless of your caloric intake and ratios, most people around here will tell you that doing crossfit four times per week is too much. Your body needs time to recover, which it is not getting.

Ah, there is your problem- crossfit 5 days a week. Stop it. I don't know how strenuous the police academy is, but you probably should imagine it is one workout and don't do more than two crossfit sessions a week until you are done with the police... (more)

If you go from VLC to ~200 carbs a day, you're going to carry water weight. That alone can account for the body fat % disparity. Don't let a little water weight mess with your head. You can go back to VLC and lose that water weight in less than... (more)

I would recommend against Crossfit for an adamantly out of shape 30 year old. I'd recommend you take up swimming, biking, tennis, walking or some other physical activity to get a solid base before you jump into anything more... (more)

I am not going to say if you should be concerned or not but for one your LDL is probably lower then stated as the normal equation doesn't work with low TG. Look up Iranian LDL calc. Also this is one moment in time you should get a few more tests... (more)
