Are banana's paleo? I have been avoiding them but now I'm curious. Also is it bad to sometimes eat some gluten while trying to stay paleo or is paleo completely avoiding dairy, breads and refined sugars?

Well I am saying if someone wants to see how they do with "gluten-free" they have to completely eliminate it to do so. Some people do well with it in their diet, but will have no idea how they do without it unless they cut it completely out and let their gut lining heal.

all fruit is paleo friendly, btw. if you are trying to lose weight however, you may want to limit.

Yes, bananas are paleo, I wouldn't have made my profile picture an anthropomorphic food unless it was paleo!

As far as gluten, I like the suggestion to not eat any for a month and then try eating some. Does it make you feel worse? Do you experience any negative effects; headaches, joint pain, sleep trouble, digestive issues, or other negative side effects? Then avoid it.

If after this period you feel fine after eating some wheat don't stress about avoiding it completely. Enjoy some on occasion if you want to. Paleo isn't a marriage, you can cheat from time to time.

Some people like to freak out about gluten around here and say its a sooper evil toxin that cuts holes through your intestines and is responsible for all kinds of health problems. These people are silly. If you do tolerate wheat, it may not be healthy, but it's not a poison.

The first time you reintroduce gluten back into your diet, it messes up your gut lining again. After a month, your gut will be completely healed, and you shouldn't have gluten again after that point. There isn't a gray area with cutting out gluten. It is all or nothing if you want the full benefits!

Bananas and all other fruit are completely paleo!
