Hello, I've been searching about a cure for keratosis pilaris and came across to your post. I just want to ask about your condition now and the process. I have almost the same amount of these on my upper legs. Do you have any advice or a path to follow? Thanks...

I don't know if it's true, but I heard that if you're getting your A and D from a whole food natural source (like fermented cod liver oil or skate liver oil) you don't have to worry about the ratio because it takes care of itself. Also that there are problems with synthetic vitamins (but now I forget what the problems are). Someone on PH (was it u, Happy_Now?) recommended greenpasture.com for cod liver oil. I love it.

@hardeepsura, maybe my cure was unique to my case of it. Keep at it and maybe it'll make a difference. What type of liver are you eating? Unless it's beef (maybe lamb) liver, it won't have a large amount of copper, but still have decent vitamin A.

VB, It's insanely common (according to Wikipedia), not sure the cause. I'm pretty sure it was something in the liver that cured it for me, 30+ years of it, a few servings of liver per week for 3 weeks and gone. Amazing.

A nutritionist I was once seeing suggest 10:1 A to D for oral consumption, but that would seem to keep D very low because vitamin A in megadoses can be just as bad if not worse than D.

So what is the recommended dose for the ratio of A:D? Is there one?

What causes it?

About a month after I dropped the megadose of D and lots of exfoliating later I can still kind of feel maybe 1/3 of the bumps I started with, but it looks a million times better.

Do people on SAD get that as well?

That's the same dosage I was taking, and started to notice the same thing on my arms. I'm pretty sure I gave myself a vitamin A deficiency in the process by not eating enough liver or cod liver oil. Dropped the D for now, and just doing cod liver oil and sunlight.

I do eat liver but still no help unless mixing with lamb meat to make meatballs is a bad idea? Will copper or vitamin A have problems whilst I eat fully cooked with lamb?...

I think you've already tagged it correctly, I think it's keratosis pilaris. I've always had this and only recently when I started eating liver did it clear up. That really wasn't the plan either! I'm guessing it's due to increased copper or retinol consumption. Dry skin and flakey scalp have also cleared up at the same time. I'm a liver convert for sure now!
