I never asked a paleo guru for advice. I doubt many have. EDIT: It's been called to my attention that I'm getting a little snarky 'round here. Mea culpa, I'll tone it down! I think that I do not like the notion of "paleo gurus,"--but that's my... (more)

http://paleohacks.com/questions/15395/perfect-health-diet-alleges-4-dangers-of-paleo#axzz1xAk7zVcA Since this was from a year ago, I'd like to re-ask the question. Is ZC safe short term? I'm doing it for a week, now I have one more thing to... (more)

I'm a histadelic, and a mostly veggie diet keeps it well in check, and veggie diets are notorious for the copper load. I've always thought that a vegetarian diet is just low in histamine (and histidine) in general, but maybe it does have... (more)

If you are on a ketogenic or very low carb (VLC) diet (e.g. with 50-100gr carb/day and/or eating ketone producing MCT oils such as coconut oil), you may have a dilemma of having high Blood Glucose (BG) despite eating LC: If you are keto adapted,... (more)

The overall issue is insulin sensitivity and the effect is somewhat exaggerated. The prior studies cited by Jaminet and others had rather large A1c ranges: 0.5 intervals. I doubt a VLC diet will push your FBG too much above 110. If you do, you... (more)
