Are there any paleo politicians out there - especially at the federal level? I am in the United States, but I'd also be curious to hear answers from other countries. It seems having someone who believes in eating real food in politics, could... (more)
Thinking out loud here… In the last 30 years or so a kajillion new diets have been introduced to the USA. Most have one big thing in common: they are extremely difficult to follow for any extended period. Of course, this helps create a market... (more)
I find it interesting how people not only get offended/defensive when I share diet-related information with them -- information that, of course, doesn't align with the mainstream rhetoric -- but also when I'm simply doing my own thing and not... (more)
I would like to start off by saying that I do like this website, but am wondering if there is a paleo community or board or forum that isn't monitored so strictly that anyone on here recommends? Is there a place that I could discuss politics,... (more)
Reading the NPR article mentioned in this thread really got me thinking. The attitude of the author and many of the commentators suggested that somehow it is my personal responsibility to eat a diet that would be sustainable for the 7 billion... (more)

What will be the fate of those decision makers who continue to bang the conventional wisdom drum for their own personal gain. Will they be brought to task? Or will they along with CW just fade away?
What do you think will happen to those governments that have lied to the people about weight management and how to change when the cat is well and truly out of the bag. What will happen to those in charge when they are finally exposed for what... (more)
Reading the link below in the American paleocon* magazine The American Conservative, I was struck by two things: 1) Many of the ideas we discuss here are most decidedly going mainstream. In fact, this site is probably an example of these ideas... (more)
Could this be done paleo? How would you do it using ordinary food shopping methods? (I won't go hunt something or scavenge for road kill.) Would anyone like to join me in doing it? In San Francisco and Marin counties, an area overflowing with... (more)

Are your political beliefs influenced by what you eat? Fascist-devil-worshippers gravitate towards warm blood, vegans to cold flabby soy. In the former case aggressivity is enhanced(meat et.al), in the later decreased: hence a more effeminate... (more)
well since Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian, I doubt that you can so easily generalise, and say that vegetarians are all peace loving hippie folks...I mean, perhaps some are, some are not..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler%27s_vegetarianism (more)
when I was vegan I noticed that the majority of vegans were very left liberal, marxists and usually atheist, vegans that were conservative/ not atheist were a minority and usually shunned by the vegan majority ( I know this first hand since Im... (more)
I disagree that there is a huge spectrum of political beliefs in the paleo community. Most of the voices I've heard have been strongly libertarian. Maybe it's because they're the majority, or maybe they are just more vocal.
Edit: Took out body of question. It was answered by all those who responded. No facts, just anger. No one read one link posted. I'd say there is a good chance that many of the gut issues, autoimmune issues and food allergies were initially caused... (more)
What place does political discussion have on PaleoHacks? Does eating Paleo pre-dispose one to lean any one way on PaleoHacks? Melissa: I am bumping this again because I've seen several political questions today.
OK, I know this can be a controversial topic, but I think it's very relevant to the whole idea of "Paleo". Because of reading about food I've been reading about food politics (e.g., the role of agriculture in the development of hierarchical and... (more)
I'm pretty much over the government telling me what I "should" eat in order to be "healthy" (i.e. fat, sick and tired) and thought that it would be cool to get a whole bunch of pictures together, make a collage, and declare July 4th 2011 "Food... (more)

Is it just me or do Paleos tend to be Libertarian? Perhaps it's easier to accept that the Conventional Wisdom is BS if you already are outside the mainstream politically... What are your thoughts?
Yes, the libertarian party was founded in 100,000 B.C.E, where Ardipithecus ramidus founded the party and mandated that all future generations who pretend to eat the same way as their ancestors be associated with it.
I just went to Netflix and noticed "Fat Head" is no longer available. I rented it just last month. Anyone know what happened? Thanks. (Resisting jumping to any conspiracy conclusions. Barely...)
