I usually eat a hard boiled egg in the morning before a workout. I boil a couple in advance so I can have a quick and easy snack i n the morning. It may work for you!

10g BCAA before workout (no meal), carb/protein after workout then balanced meals form there on. The fasted training will help to burn fat and the carb/protein post workout with help to build muscle.

I drink black coffee and tea on occasion. I don't add anything to either unless fruit or honey to tea.

I would go with a banana. The protein and fat from the egg won't help/digest fast enough, and the sweet potato takes a while to digest as well. Have a banana 30 min before and you should be fine

I think pre-workout meals are a terrible idea. I usually try not to eat anything at least 3 hours pre-workout. Post workout...lots of white potatoes, jasmine rice, chicken gizzards, and chicken...kind of bland and low fat but it pays off in the... (more)

Timing is EXTREMELY overrated. If you feel good working out fasted do it. Don't wanna eat right after your workout? Don't have to. Just be sure to hit your macro goals for the day at any point and you will be fine.

There is no consistency because context always applies. You say you are trying to gain muscle as well at not lose fat, so this one seems fairly straight forward. If you want to gain muscle, protein before and or after is always a solid bet. ... (more)
