So, I just broke my arm, and was wondering, is there anything that I should eat more of specifically that would help it heal faster? I was just planning on eating a bunch of marrow, organs, and bone broth for the next few weeks.
Been a few years since I posted, but I think I'll find some good information in the community. I'm a Nutrition major, on the Nutritional Sciences track, not the Dietetics one. Almost done with my degree. Anyways, for one of my classes this... (more)
Whenever I'm taking a zinc supplement, I have a noticeably heightened libido (I'm a guy btw). Does this indicate that the zinc is increasing my testosterone production due to a zinc deficiency? Or is there another reason why zinc would... (more)
I have noticed the exact same thing. It does raise libido and some testosterone too. But It shouldnt be too intense unless you are over doing it (imo)
So, I have read a few posts about people experiencing bad breathe and perspiration after they enter ketosis. Has anyone experienced the opposite? I have noticed in the last week or so, since I went back to a keto diet that my BO has gone away. (more)

Whenever I start getting sore, tired, and lethargic I lighten up on spinach for a day or two and usually feel a lot better but I think I might have a thyroid problem.
I was in a Paleo VLC keto diet for 7 weeks. It didn???t worked. After each meal I would feel lethargic. ironically I felt great while fasting. One day I did fasting for 24 hours and I had a lot of energy, but after eating 6oz of beef liver meat... (more)

What would be the effects of eating 70-85% of your calories from fat in the form of coconut oil, 10-20% from protein in the form of various meats, and 5-10% from carbohydrate in the form of various fibrous vegetables? I understand that... (more)

Okay, I added "disgusting" in the title to get you to look... plus, I'm very new to Paleo and I'm coming from a vegan background. I know Paleo (the autoimmune version) I'm following will help, at least I'm confident it will, but cooking meat is... (more)

Do not use protein for energy. Simple. Eat fat or carbohydrate for energy. Egg whites and chicken breast was a bolus of protein, with little energy. You simply were undereating.
I'm training for a half marathon and I'm up in the 8-10 mile range and fairly new to paleo. I typically eat some eggs and bacon and a half of banana or so before the training runs, and nothing during. Just water. My last two training runs, I've... (more)

I use coconut oil (extra virgin) for everything. Hair, skin, teeth, and cooking. I think it's a wonderful, amazing gift. But, I wonder how environmentally friendly it is, as it's still harvested in tropical or warm regions. Whether the coconut... (more)
If there is enough demand for coconut oil, they will slash and burn vast acreage to grow it, too. Palm oil is just used in more things, so it needs more land. There is no truly sustainable anything when we demand more and more.
