You should be tested for SIBO if you have digestive symptoms, such as bloating, abdominal pain, gas, GERD, constipation/diarrhea. SIBO can cause a leaky gut but if you have SIBO, you will have both digestive symptoms + leaky gut symptoms. You can find more information about how to adapt your Paleo diet with SIBO here.

You might listen to a podcast from Dr Allison Siebecker - who seems to be pretty knowledgeable about SIBO. http://www.siboinfo.com The podcast is on the front page of the website that she did with Dr. Lo.
