Alright folks give em up. I've become a bit tired of the EVOO, garlic, lemon or lime, salt/pepper marinade I've been using for some time (on pretty much all types of meat). Any suggestions for simple/quick recipes (steak and salmon are my most commonly grilled meats)? I'm all ears ; )

I am kind of partial to rubs so you might try these:

Mix all rub ingredients well, sprinkle over, rub in and let sit for a couple of hours. Grill.

Beef

2 tbsp black pepper 2 tbsp oregano 1 tsp cumin 1 tbsp onion powder 1 tbsp cilantro 1 tsp grnd orange peel chipotle chili pepper to your hotness level

Salmon

1 1/2 tbsp fennel seed 1 1/2 tbsp grnd coriander 1 1/2 tbsp white pepper

Rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, a hint of whiskey, black pepper plus or minus minced ginger and garlic

Wheat-free tamari, sesame oil, mirin (or cooking sherry), five-spice powder - good as marinade for chicken thighs (made this last night, in fact) - can also add fish sauce & lime juice as well.

Hmm, wonder if Coconut Aminos would work in place of Tamari (taste wise)? – MotoMoto Mar 13 2012 at 3:56
