I have been lacto-paleo for only three weeks, but the things I've noticed have been fairly startling. I am not overweight, but I have seemed to always carry my weight under my navel, and that is shrinking daily. It was fat I thought I was doomed to carry as the "last place I'd ever lose." I am less puffy, bloated, and gassy after eating - no GI distress later, either, symptoms of which I had never been able to pinpoint the cause. It just seemed normal to feel like that after a meal, and seemed to happen randomly. I blamed it on cow's milk at one point, and while I am mildly lactose intolerant, cultured products, hard cheeses, and butter don't bother me. It is important to my question to note that I really wasn't thinking about GI issues at all going into this - sometimes I ate and was bloated and it sucked, sometimes not.
Anyway, this is basically MARVELOUS. I ate a grass-fed ribeye last night and a pile of veg with some pastured, cultured butter - and I felt full, but not bloated. This has all been very novel, and awesome.
I tinkered with rice briefly and found that I was sensitive to it, but that tubers were a-ok, which is grand because I grow heirloom types and love them very much.
I just can't believe I could never pinpoint the problem, decide that there was a problem, and that three weeks could make sure a gigantic difference.
Has anyone else experienced this drastic change, particularly coupled with being totally clueless that you would have any other benefits besides being healthier overall and/or losing a bit of weight?
*Also, my hair has become curlier. I don't know what to make of that, but it makes me happy - it used to be great in high school, and then gradually has seemed to get less and less curly, but now it has sprung back up in a way that is just awesome. This may deserve a separate question.
