Does anyone know if the Paleo fx presentations are going to be online, for free to view like the AHS presentations were? Someone may have already asked this, but I couldn't find it. Thanks!

I would be shocked beyond belief if the presentations aren't turned into a money-making scheme. Nothing would make me happier than to be wrong about this but everything I've seen so far as it relates to this production tells me I am not.

Money making? At the very least how about recuperating costs for putting something like this together. – JoeBranca at paleoplusone.com Mar 16 2012 at 16:58
I doubt they're out any money Joe. I think by all accounts they are doing just fine actually. I have no problem with people monetizing paleo-related information in and of itself. I would certainly feel much better about the claims that this was all about helping people if they put the presentations up so that all can benefit from them especially if the speakers themselves are not getting any money for their work. I still have hope that they do the right thing. – Shari Bambino Mar 16 2012 at 19:37
Were the speakers paid at all? – Namby Pamby Mar 17 2012 at 2:49
My understanding is no and in fact they had to cover all their own expenses. But this is just information I have from one speaker. They had to sign over rights to the presentations as I heard it. Again, information from what I think is a reliable source but I can't say for certain. – Shari Bambino Mar 17 2012 at 3:03
Money-Making scheme? I just don't think those are the right words to use at all. Mark Sisson lost money during the 1st Primal Con. AHS put up all their videos for free. The people who put this together can do what they want with it. Of course it would be sweet if it was free but I don't expect it. I'll be happy either way. I'm just going to do my best to attend next year as well as AHS this year. – Primal Toad Mar 22 2012 at 15:53

Paul Jaminet, who is speaking, speculated on Twitter that they would be for sale because speakers were asked to sign away all rights. But I wonder if it's possible those were really lawyer-ese docs for permission to post after the event.

I find it very odd that someones response would be "shocked beyond belief if the presentations aren't turned into a money-making scheme." Are you serious? Some of the best Paleo resources HAVE been free- AHS, Paleo Summit, Robb Wolfs Podcasts, Chris Kressers podcasts, etc.

Let these hard working people make money if they want to. They do enough for us.

I don't think Shari meant it in a negative way though. She just said it was unlikely it would be free. – Korion Mar 16 2012 at 18:52
Thank you Korion. No I did not mean it that way. Nice first post Allison. Welcome. I have nothing against hard working people making money. I am against opportunists of any kind or in any realm that relates to actual life and death. I support people who are contributing to this community with good information, support and guidance. I am against paleo becoming a dog and pony show so that a few can make some money. I'm not saying that's what's happened here. As I said I hope they decide to allow the materials that the presenters worked so hard to produce to be accessed by all who need it. – Shari Bambino Mar 17 2012 at 3:19
