On days when I fast, I notice an increased libido, especially as the fast goes on (and ESPECIALLY when I work out and then take a cold shower during said fast). While I don't find this to a problem, I am curious as to why this is. Weight training and cold showers I can understand (via increased testosterone) but the fasting part throws me for a loop. Anyone have any clue as to why this is?

I wish I could find it to post, but there is some research into increased sex-drive and fasting. It seems to increase between 16-32 hours of fasting then may decline with longer periods. I can't remember where I read that but I'm sure google may help you find the literature. I do notice the same thing. Exercise does use up some of your hormones, but also triggers your body to start producing more, this seems especially true for explosive movements like cleans, dead lifts, snatches, ect. |

After an experiment for the past 2 weeks on daily IF, I've found that my libido completely died. That being said, I only ate breakfast basically for two weeks and my calories were very, very low (about 1100/day where my normal cals are around 2300/day). Sure enough, after the last two days housing an aggressive St. Patty's day binge, my libido is back to "raging" even though I feel like crap (thanks to the drink and the bad food). So, IF with sufficient calories? Maybe. IF with calorie restriction? Limp Noodle. At least in my experience. I will say this though, calorie restricted IF results in a certain clarity of thought, more so if I'm also lower carb. I notice I can manage my time better, and my problem solving ability goes up. Weight loss naturally is quite a bit more consistent with the low carb, calorie restricted IF (as long as I have 1 day a week where I eat normal maintenance calories, in a re-feed scenario). The only drawback is that friends and relatives accuse me of being "dark" and quiet, and my sex drive is very poor. |

weight lifting increases testosterone and so does IF after 18 hrs of fasting to stop it self from losing muscle it releases Gh. estrogen on the other hand is what kills testosterone and being overweight/ soy/pregnant cow milk/ pesto-side is whay increases estrogen or converts testosterone into estrogen |

Shouldn't training decreases testosterone rather than increasing? at least just after |
