Hello my beautiful people! Here to pick your brains again! :]
I was doing Crossfit 5/6 days a week until about 2 weeks ago. I am trying to cut body fat, and have decided to work out only 4 days out of the week. Can you hack the routine I've come up with? I need to continue to do 1 distance run a week and 1 swim so I dont lose my endurance...hence the "2-a-days".
Monday: 1 WOD (Metcon/Strength/Whatever my box has planned)
Wednesday: Swim or Strength Workout around noon, 5PM or 6 PM WOD
Friday: Swim or Strength workout around noon, 5PM or 6PM WOD
Saturday: 10 AM WOD, afternoon run appx 4 miles.
The dog usually gets a 2 mile walk 4/5 days out of the week(always on rest days if not raining) and I ride my horse 3/4 times a week.
Will this workout routine pump too much cortisol into my body?!

Honestly, you are going to be able to answer this better than any of us. It'll certainly help that you're cutting back a bit, but here's the thing... I'm assuming from your training schedule that you are quite fit. So, the question is: is this new schedule goin to be "easy" for you? If you go out and kill yourself at every workout, then yes, the cortisol will be pumping. However, if you can handle this lighter training load well and the recovery days are sufficient for your body to recuperate, then it sounds like you're on the right track. Ultimately, only you can know this.
Ex: if I tried your schedule, I would die. :)
I'm not sure you need to worry about losing endurance, and 4 WODs on top of everything else seems like it'd be hard to maintain at the right level. If you do actually swim though, so those WODs are your only intense resistance/speed exercises then it seems manageable, though I'd be tempted to say still on the heavy side if I were worried about stress. The other factor is throwing in a week off every 6 weeks or something would likely help.
