Well, as a follow up on my last post ( http://paleohacks.com/questions/105551/what-to-do-if-amenorrhoea-strikes-again#axzz1pK76WWSB ) , i'd like to gain a kilo or two, i'm currently 110 pounds ( 49-50.5 kg ) and is 5ft 7 (170cm) and is 16 years old. According to the teenage BMI chart, I'm in the 6-8th percentile, with 5% and under being underweight. So, technically im not underweight, but according to my body I am, therefore loosing my period, once again. :/
I'm struggling to eat more, I really dislike the feeling of being stuffed, when I gained weight 4 months ago because I was even more underweight,( due to the transition to paleo foods and unintentionally not eating enough because of different calorie densities compared to S.A.D ), I really stuffed myself alot to put on weight, and I don't really want to go through that again. Plus im a bit stressed out with schooling and contrary to on the S.A.D ( emotional eating), I'm the oposite
How do I sneak the calories in? What pace should I go to gain a kilo or two?
You could give yourself goals. Figure your lean body mass, go to an online daily calorie requirements calculator for a rough idea, figure how many grams of protein/carb/fat foods give you that, set your goals and eat. if that doesnt put weight on you, set the goal higher. This way you don't have to worry if you are or are not eating enough daily.
I got a commercial blender and made/ate all kinds of meals (including meat) and poured it down the hatch if I couldn't eat enough. 5 seconds down the hatch, done.
Add more fat, thats an easy way to add calories.
