I have suddenly developed a skin rash which itches a lot - mainly on the left side. The only things in my diet which have changed in the last 3 days are - I've been taking kelp pills, I've started eating 4 brazil nuts and 6 almonds, and I've started taking Diatomaceous earth - 2 teaspoons in water, morning and night.
Could any of these have caused the rash? Or is it just a coincidence?
If anyone has had this from DE I'd be really pleased to hear from you! Thanks.
Excuse me, But where is the proof this stuff can get into our lungs but cannot be expelled?? Do you have any studies to prove this? I accidentally breathed it in once. Got a respiratory infection. Got better. But where's the proof that scar tissue forms around the particles? Is this just conjecture?? I have been taking DE now for a little over a week and my skin, nails and hair are improving. It repairs. There are people who have used this stuff and reported looking like they had colon therapy. It's helping me, that's all I know and my back pain is getting better and the soil our food is grown is is deficient in silica which 85% of this stuff is composed of. It helps the body assimilate nutrients.

The iodine in kelp could set off dermatitis herpetiformis - the celiac skin rash. Even if one has been eating gluten-free for moths, the rash can still get triggered by contributors (like iodine which is required for the rash reaction) because in the case of DH, the antibodies stay under the skin for months, even years and they take a loooong time to get resorbed. I have been strictly GF for over 3 years now and still get triggered by iodine - if I eat seafood a couple days in a row, if I eat too much dairy (usually high in iodine), take a multivite with 100% RDV of iodine plus what's in my foods. DH is usually very itchy though I do know a couple of people who get it who don't have the awful itch.
