Hello - I drink a lot of water. I average around a 100 oz for a woman of 5'8 and 150 lbs. I usually have not thirst, but dry mouth most of the time.
Today, I tried eating more fat and the craving for water went away.
Does this happen to anyone else?

Did you eat the fat with salt? I get dry mouth if I stop eating salt for a few days, you might be the same. |

For me, if I'm eating less fat that generally means I'm eating MORE protein. And protein makes me ULTRA thirsty. |

I would say you are "more than likely" drinking too much water and are probably still dehydrated given that you experience a dry mouth. Do you also experience a dry nose, or dry eyes? There are two main factors in dehydration:
How often are you going to the bathroom? And what color is your urine? I'd say if you are going >5 times a day and your urine is clear, you are still dehydrated. Dial back the water intake to around 60-75 oz, add some sea salt to it, or add more salt to your food to improve retention. Mix and match. |
