I was wondering about this after reading several posts from people who say they don't enjoy starchy foods unless they are heavily fatted up. One of them said they do better with a higher percentage of fat in their diet and could only tolerate so much starch.
Personally, my body couldn't deal with high fat paleo and I switched to eating lots of potatoes, rice and fruit. The thing is, I love plain white rice, I eat just a big ball without even salt. I also eat white potatoes boiled in salted water with nothing else and I enjoy it. From the time I was a kid, fat made me squeamish. My mother used to get mad at me for complaining about the "jelly" on the chicken, and I couldn't stand it if there was enough butter on my bread to sink my teeth into. I can't even imagine eating a spoonful of coconut oil.
Today I cut off most the fat hanging on my meat for no other reason than I just don't like eating it. I don't even like biting into the crispy fat on a bacon strip. I do like some fatty foods a lot: sausages, eggs, burger patties, nuts, chocolate, mayo, etc. But it's like I have a very low "full" mark on my fat gauge.
So those whose bodies prefer a starchy diet, do you enjoy eating lots of fat? And do the folks whose bodies prefer the fatty diets enjoy fairly plain starch? Is there anyone who has found they do best with lots of starches and yet dislike them (and the opposite)?
