Hi there,

I am a Paleo-Dieter. But sometimes I get myself a Cappuccino to go. Mostly I get it by Mc Donalds. In Germany we can choose between - Soy Milk (lactose free but grain source somehow) & - fatreduced Milk (1,5 % fat instead of 3,5 %)

What would you say is less harmfull out of a Plaeo Point of view and why?

TYVM all!!!

you can't get full fat milk? That would be better than either of those options. Coffee with heavy cream would be the best. – gydle Mar 25 2012 at 15:57
Yes - full fat milk (3,5%) is also availiable. But why is that better? – CaveFit Mar 25 2012 at 16:07
And what is better with heavy cream? – CaveFit Mar 25 2012 at 16:09
das hängt u.a. mit der Größe der Fettkügelchen zusammen und dem was sie durch die Darmwand tragen, hier gibt es Details: milchlos.de/milos_0300.htm – Anne Mar 25 2012 at 16:18

well, since I have no clue what Anne said up there, I'm hoping she said that fat is your friend, particularly when it comes to dairy. Low-fat milk is a processed food. You can read more here bodyearth.net/milk/… – gydle Mar 25 2012 at 16:37

If you have to pick between the two, the milk is better than the soy. Just remember dairy should be a minimum but soy is just a no no. I use to drink tons of soy milk before paleo, and trust me cutting it is great.

I am spoiled and own an espresso machine, buy coconut milk, and use that which is very good.

Do you also agree in cream would be best? Why is that? – CaveFit Mar 25 2012 at 16:15

Soja meide ganz und anstatt Milch nimm besser Sahne (in Maßen), deren Zusammensetzung ist noch eher verträglich als Milch

Danke. Du meinst die Zusammensetzung in Bezug auf die Lactose? Nimmst Du normale Schlagsahne? Z.B. aus der Sprühdose? Danke nochmals. – CaveFit Mar 25 2012 at 16:15

– Anne Mar 25 2012 at 16:26

Can you order it with half & half? If I go to a coffee place which doesn't have whole milk (which drives me CRAZY! No whole milk?!) I ask for a mix of low-fat milk and half & half.

Yeah - there is also whole milk. But why is that better than 1,5 % milk? – CaveFit Mar 25 2012 at 16:12
There is fat-free "half and half" out there. Not sure if they have it in Germany. It is not food. – David Rourke Mar 25 2012 at 17:06
Why would you not choose whole milk then? Here are some reasons to dump low-fat dairy: wholehealthsource.blogspot.com/2010/04/… articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/… bodyearth.net/milk/… news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2010/12/… – Annika Mar 25 2012 at 18:13
