Am I missing any certain fatty acids or anything if I eat only canned sardines/ eggs for my meat sources. Is this optimal and not eating any otheranimal meats?

You could. However adding Salmon would be a good choice as well. Mixing in oysters would be another choice. |

I'm going to say no. Eating only one thing and ignoring others is never optimal. Is there a reason you would only eat eggs and sardines? Also, if that is all you are eating, please make sure you're eating pastured eggs and high quality sardines. But, you should also seriously consider adding other protein sources. |

That sounds epic! I love sardines but especially love eating them in public to tick people off. If you are going to be eating large amounts I would recommend purchasing high quality sardines canned in BPA free packaging. My staple is Raincoast trading sardines or Wild Planet Sardines. They run at 3$ a tin but they are the best choice if you cannot get a hold of fresh sardines. |

You could, but there are two reasons as to why this is not optimal: 1) Variety. It's not just about being excited to sit down for dinner, but about getting a wide variety of different nutrients. Also, reducing the chances from toxicity from over consumption of one-single sourced product. I would recommend, if your not wanting to do fresh meat (I get the price thing, it makes it hard) other canned, fresh, or frozen seafood, such as wild salmon, prawns, clams, mussels, scallops, squid, crayfish, crab, lobster etc. 2) Longevity. Of the diet, that is. If you are treating it like a "diet"-diet where you can only eat foods X and Y this amount a week, eating paleo will probably just be a diet for you. It is hard to make something a lifestyle if you are eating 10 cans of sardines a week, because it will feel restrictive and boring very quickly. There are people here who have done a lot of great things and experienced health benefits from starting with an initially restricted diet to recognize things like food sensitivities or support gut microbiota, so maybe in the short term this is what works for you, but I think that looking into different sea foods and even locally farmed meat, is a great thing to do so that if you DO feel like abandoning paleo because of boredom you, instead, can just go buy yourself some ground beef and bones and eat something different for a change! |

That's basically what I'm doing, except I eat other seafood. The only concern I have is toxins in seafood, but I can eat 10 can of sardines a week and be just fine. I can't have too many eggs at once, or I get sick...so I just spread it out over the day. I've been toying with the idea of adding yogurt or kefir to vary up my protein. I don't know why some people are responding so negatively. I think it's just fine. Personally, I can't get over the idea of factory farming, the POSSIBILITY of inhumane treatment, and non-natural feed through grains (even as supplementation to grass-fed). Grass-fed is expensive and very hard to find. If I could afford it, I'd eat wild game. But I'm not going to order meat and have it shipped on a regular basis. I may have it on occasion, but I don't want it to be a regular meal for me. I get pastured eggs, which I know aren't perfect, but it helps me make a compromise with myself. |

Grass fed beef is more expensive but it supports the whole non-factory farming movement- commit to it at some point. Grass fed cost more because it is a FAR better product so you really can't compare to two. It gives farmers a fair price and not the middle man. And you will notice you eat LESS ( a big plus) and you can buy parts of the cow or pig that is no longer found in fake supermarket butcher depts. Not really butchers but box openers and re-packagers. Time to commit to helping out the humanely ethically treated non-factor farmers or it will die. Americans spend less for food than any other country- we have been spoiled but pay thru the nose for health care and hospitalization. I eat Paleo low carb because when I die I don't want to be physically old. |

hunt venison. There is deer season in every state. One modest sized deer (120lb) will give you about 60 pounds of meant - more if you eat organs. |

I'm pretty sure you'll poison yourself if you eat too much seafood. I'm also sure I'll get some downvotes over this. Regardless, it's a potential problem that you should look into. |

Since you do not want to eat an animal with a face - go add milk then and some cheese. |
