I've been doing PHD type paleo for quite a while now and been feeling awesome compared to before. Overall my symptoms have improved quite noticably but sometimes I catch myself micromanaging every little detail and it causes stress :/ ..But don't we all do that? lol :)
Anyways, I wanted to ask the community about their experience with short and long grain rice. Do you feel any difference in your body? How does one or the other affect constipation? Or any other symptoms..
I know the facts from googling around, I made this question so we can share our experiences with different varities of rice and how it affects our symptoms.

I don't notice any difference; this is wayyy too down in the weeds for me! I'm curious to see the other answers; I'm no science person, but I cannot fathom how it could possibly make a difference. What did you find in your googling? Do you notice anything yourself?
I don't notice much difference, perhaps because I eat my rice in a meal with protein and fats. But I've started cooking basmati rice both for its lower GI and because it smells so good when it's cooking! That said, I agree with Shari ... stress is counterproductive. I wouldn't stress over it ;).
I react way more to whole grain rice than to polished rice. Polished rice is actually relatively ok for me (but I haven't had it since going paleo a few months ago).
Also, basmati was worse than jasmin rice, so for a long time I only ate jasmin. And it's interesting that one does seem to be more polished than the other, if looking very close.
It's possible that they could be polished differently by different producers, but I haven't noticed that since I haven't tried many brands.
I suspect it was the amount of phytic acid or the mycotoxins in the whole grains that were my main problem with grains, although I also seem to react to soy. Peanuts and other things were also triggers of my skin problems.
Curious to know if anyone else has done a n=1 rice experiment too.
i never thought about it. but since i just go for whatever variety seems appealing (i live in a primarily indian neighborhood with access to HUGE varieties of rice of all different colors and sizes), i'm assuming i have no adverse reaction to either type.
