I think every guy should buzz their head once in their life for the sake of doing it, unfortunately I tried it and can officially say I'm not one who can pull off the buzz cut.

I have a few weddings coming up in a couple months, anyway to regrow hair a little faster than normal?

I hear Biotin speeds up hair growth? 2.5mg to 5mg per day seems to be the general consensus from "google"....

Tho, may be best not to take this much Biotin for too long, may put other things out of whack. Paul Jaminet suggests a Biotin intake of around 5 to 10 mg per week. Biotin is found in Egg yolk amongst other things.

Drinking bone broth for a few weeks has helped my hair greatly.

Maybe this deserves its own question but does consuming powdered gelatin give the same benefits as bone broth? – Pat Apr 5 2012 at 0:30
Good Question. I make my bone broth from grass-fed beef marrow bones, letting them simmer for 10+ hours. – Paleo_Wes Apr 5 2012 at 0:38
Pat - definitely ask that question (if you don't I will). I've used gelatin to cure constipation and it works better for that than bone broth, but for hair growth bone broth seems to work great. – Korion Apr 5 2012 at 13:20

Yes to the above... and a good thing about biotin is that your body only absorbs what it can use, so over-doing it is easy to avoid. Also, if you wash your hair daily, massage coconut oil into your scalp every night before bed then wash it out in the morning. I do that often but cover my pillow with a towel or case I don't care about just in case.

Lastly, what works well for me is using a mask. The first one: mashup 1/2 avocado and 1/4 c. coconut oil. Apply, comb out excess and rinse.

Second one: 1 egg 1/4 cup yogurt 1/4 cup honey 1/4 cup olive oil.\ What to do: 1. Beat the eggs until they become frothy and add in the olive oil. 2. Whisk until it's fully blended together and add in the yogurt, mixing until it's a creamy consistency. Then add the honey. 3.Spread the mixture from your roots to your ends, combing it through. 4. Wrap your hair in a warm towel for twenty to thirty minutes before your rinse it out and shampoo.

Hope this helps!

How would the "mask" help hair grow faster? I get that it would moisturize but.... – Satchmo Apr 5 2012 at 2:08
I think it helps the scalp. I assumed you would be putting it on your scalp because your hair is so short. I can't say for sure, but I can say that doing those things at least once a week on myself has improved my hair growth by more than 1/4 inch per month. – HRow Apr 5 2012 at 15:36

Hi Pat,

With head shaving becoming more and more popular, many people are choosing to buzz off their own hair. Yes you can regrow your hair. Here are some tips that I came across at Forhair website, I hope it would help you too:

  1. With your fingers, massage all around your scalp.

  2. Using your prong hairbrush, do the same thing. Rub the prongs all around your scalp, which gets the blood circulating and activates the hair follicles

  3. If you like you can purchase a scalp massager, which I would add to this regime, instead of replacing any part of it. You can buy these online or at any health foods market.
