I know Twisted Root and the Grazing Cow serve grass-fed hamburgers. Anybody know of other places where it's easy to eat paleo (or paleo with a few modifications)?

Kozy Kitchen is the best! Lots of paleo-friendly options or menu items that can be easily modified. |

Carl's serves a lettuce wrapped burger, Jimmy Johns serves a lettuce wrapped sub, Chipotle (Burrito bowl with no rice/beans+extra meat=AWESOME), there is a great place called Salata, they serve HUGE salads with plenty of protein and veggies, other than that, I tend to stick with getting Salmon at restaurants :-) |

I was just in Dallas visiting family this last weekend and we ate at Bob's Steak and Chop House... http://www.bobs-steakandchop.com/ It's not grass fed:-( but it's pretty amazing food regardless and easy to eat paleo. |

I definitely second Kozy. Also a great place for brunch on the weekends. |

I'll third Kozy. I always order the burger without the bun and love the veggie instead of fries side idea. Meddlesome Moth in Dallas also has a grass fed burger. I wasn't aware that Twisted Root was grass fed. Funny their website (Twisted Root) doesn't make any mention of that fact. You would think that would be a selling point. |

Elevation Burger on Hillcrest @ NW Hwy uses only 100% grass fed beef. Try the lettuce wrapped version instead of bun. |

I wouldn't know about grass fed, but Texas is where I go to eat pit smoked beef brisket. Randy's and Mac's are two places near Dallas where you can order it delicious and fork tender. Meat and no sides, with unsweet ice tea. Mmmmm boy. |

Has anyone noticed while eating out now that everything is extremely salty? I ate at Company Cafe a week ago and could not finish my meal b/c of the salt. I love their bunless burger, but will never do the smoked salmon again. I expected salt but it was out of control. The cauli mash was also very salty. Hope it was an off night. I also felt the same way about a chicken breast at lunch yesterday. Too much salt! |

It's not Dallas, but it is the D/FW area: There is a place called Potager Cafe in Arlington on Mesquite St. They use ALL 100% local, pastured, grass-fed, organic, and raw products. It's an interesting little place too. You pay what you think the meal was worth. I was in there for lunch one day, but they didn't have much left, so I said I'd be back for dinner. The lady that owns it asked me what I would like to have for dinner...and she had it for me...down to a dessert of berries! They do have a website if you want to do a search...and they list the menu and where they get their products on it as well! |

Elevation Burger is yummy. Off Northwest Hwy and Hillcrest, if I'm remembering right. And there's a place in that same area (the shopping center where, years ago, there was a mystery book store) called The Dive that we ate at the last time we were in town. Had AMAZING Ceviche with plantain chips (pretty sure the oil wasn't what I would have picked, but we indulged anyway). The Egg & I did a nice steak and eggs breakfast. |

The Market Diner, close to downtown Dallas, makes its meatloaf without bread or crackers! |

It doesn't need to be a hamburger place. Many BBQ places are rather paleo. A place I like is Cowboy Chicken. I usually get half a chicken with butternut squash and sweet potato or greenbeans. |

Go to southpaw! If you are interested, they list the number of calories, carbs, and protein in everything they have there. My favorite is their Tuna salad! Everything comes with fresh fruit as well :) |

Im not sure how its eating paleo if the meat being used comes from grain fed cows and chickens, if the eggs come from grain fed chickens, and if the food is cooked in vegitable oil. And why are all "paleo friendly" spots burger joints? CowboyChicken taste fine, but your chicken isnt high quality, the veggies arent local or organic, and whats the difference between that and KFC with a side of slaw? Nothing. These choices are being made based on what looks "healthy" and paleo. The truth is, there is damn near no where you can eat out of your house that the food is not killing you slowly. I look forward to a restuarant where the beef is pastured raised, graises all day, eats only grass maybe some hay in the winter, and the chickens dont get fed a grain diet, have not only "access" to the outdoors but are actually outdoors all day, where the vegitables are fresh, local and organic (at least in practice) and their are some grain free options for dessert instead of the normal Gluten free crap thats out there. That would be a paleo friendly restuarnt. |
