"I couldn't help myself." Really? I believe you aren't giving yourself enough credit. You can do whatever you want to do, which definitely includes forgoing any chocolate. Leave it in the fridge, and if you want some, eat a piece of fruit instead. – foreveryoung Apr 10 2012 at 0:58
"A lot", not "alot". "Etc., "not "ect". – Tyler F Apr 10 2012 at 1:24

Question for you, T33gz: why is it acceptable for you to have to eat the chocolate that was given to you, certainly by people who know you are watching what you eat, and yet you won't take this to your coworkers at work?

The answer is that it is not ok. You can tell your partner you really appreciate the sentiment but just don't indulge anymore. You can thriw the chocolate away. You can pass it on to a coworker (or several coworkers!) with children. You can even donate them to a food bank.

Please don't accept 'the gift of something' as a reason or obligation to eat it. At the end of the day, a gift should be received graciously, and that is all. A gift is never meant to induce guilt, and if it does that's another motive (sabotage?) masquerading as a gift.

Thank you for the advice i gave most of it away and my partner understands he even agreed next year to get me fruit or nuts or make a paleo friendly breakfast in bed. – T33gZ May 1 2012 at 1:01

Throw it in the trash. Why is that so hard for you?

I couldn't bring myself to do that as there are starving people but i could give it away. – T33gZ Apr 10 2012 at 3:56
Would you eat/give away poison? – John Sorrentino Apr 10 2012 at 12:24
starving people really dont need chocolate...granted if i was starving, i would certainly eat all the chocolate you handed me! take the gift, but keep your partner informed on how well you are doing on paleo, keep working at it and they will see the difference! – paleoprimal Apr 11 2012 at 13:02
I have given it to the girls at work and they loved it :) i do accosionly eat dark chcolate but usually 85% and sugar free organic brands. – T33gZ May 1 2012 at 1:00

how much did you get? Personally I enjoyed the eggs I got but I didn't get tons and only one milk choc egg since everyone who knows me knows I don't want milk chocolate.

Giving it away and/or sharing with people (the people who gave it to you... just eat it around them and offer it a lot)... very easy way to get rid of it :P haha.

Most importantly, in the long run it isn't going to hurt and its ok to indulge in something like that once in a while as long as you are not overly sensitive to any of the ingredients (though ofc anything with wheat in I wouldn't bother indulging in at all and I'm not celiac).

I got alot of chocolate but only one in 85% dark witch is what i usually have if i feel the need. I may just keep offwering it to visitors. – T33gZ Apr 10 2012 at 3:55

Could you bring it to your workplace and share it with co-workers? If you have an office desk, you could place it out and people could just grab some of it when they stop by. Or if you have a break room, you could bring it there.
