They don't have much in the way of organic/grass-fed that I could see, but H-Mart has some foods that are harder to get in most markets at a very good price, such as offal, lamb, and goat meat. They also have some interesting fruits/vegetables/herbs. And being an Asian market, they do have sashimi right there all prepped (which seemed better quality than the frozen since that came treated with carbon monoxide.) Other than that, local farms and farmer's markets are probably where you'd have to get the offal and such (especially for the quality stuff.) The lamb available at Fred Meyer/Safeway/QFC from Superior Farms (if I remember correctly) seems to be pretty good, too. Fred Meyer carries Organic Prairie frozen meats in the natural section, along with organic bulk and produce items. I don't actually live close enough to Seattle to get to PCC or Whole foods, but can buy non-meat products from the local Natural Foods Co-Op that isn't available at Fred Meyer. Anyway, hope my rambling may be of use somehow! |

The Northwest isn't exactly beef-land. Stick with the best seafood on earth. I like Olympia Seafood in Olympia for fresh Dungeness crab, but Pike Place is good if I'm in Seattle. |
