So, when I was in the hospital, they did basic testing and said numerous times that they had found ketones, and it made me think back to what I had eating before I went into the hospital. But I became confused, because the few days before I had gone, I'd been eating pretty high carb (100-150 ish) from fruits and vegetables... I know all bodies are unique, but isn't this kind of high to be burning through ketones? Any ideas why that'd be happening?

Maybe you ate coconut oil before? The MCTs are directly converted to ketones inside the liver. Also, ketosis has no on/off switch, even on moderate-carb days some of them will still be detectable. |
