Day 12 of my Whole 30 challenge and everything is going great... down almost 10 lbs, not as tired, etc., all the great things that happen when switching to Paleo. However, I have noticed a few things...
One is that I feel like I have a more of a "fishy" smell to my skin. I don't know if it's coming out of my pours or what and I do notice it more when having sex. Sorry of TMI, but it's very distinct. Is this normal? WTF?
Secondly the last few days I haven't really wanted veggies. Almost hard to eat them. I think I could forgo the veggies for awhile and really not miss them much. Is this a bad idea? Switching to a mostly 100% meat diet? Or will it make me smell even fishier?
Im wondering if you might not have some genetic susceptibility to trimethylaminuria. And the stress due to VLC dieting is bring it out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trimethylaminuria . I have had a similar problem every time i've tried going VLC. So you might want to try upping your carbs a bit.
Dude trust me. your body odor will pass soon enough. I'm ZERO carb I see no reasons as why to eat dirty vegetation lol. Drink tons of water. Eating only meat by itself won't cause body odor you see. It's most likely all the spices flavoring used with it. This is what you are most likely experiencing. My body smells more " primal " and " Native " since going ALL MEAT. I feel awesome. NO blood sugar swings at all. Drink tons of water. When eating carbs i get a yeasty moldy smell.
I think you're in ketosis. You could try eating a little bit of carbs and the fishy smell will go away. You should also add fat to your diet--100% meat is not healthy. It can lead to rabbit starvation.
