hi all, i am experiencing what i think is really bad water retention, its been going on for a long time. ive tried to describe this to my doctors but they dont believe me, i called it "swelling". ive had all the basic blood work done and came back normal. it's the worst in my arms. my shoulder blades are winged and when i exercise they muscles feel "swollen" and really heavy but i get it all over.

any advice? anyone know what would cause this? fwiw i'm very very thin.

my bp is good but my hr is a bit low. i do not eat a lot of salt.

By "very very thin" do you mean that you are underweight, and possible under eating? Thin in an unhealthy way? – JeJ Apr 14 2012 at 0:27

Hey yo, If you can rule out edema from anorexia (very common side effect), then I'd just try adding in things like asparagus and some herbal tea with dandelion in it. THose are natural diuretics. – foreveryoung Apr 14 2012 at 0:45

Yeah, I was going to ask about edema as well. I don't have any helpful advice, but it sounds like you're in a very uncomfortable place and I wish you the best of luck figuring things out. – Sunny Beaches Apr 14 2012 at 0:53

Have they checked your acid-base balance? pH, as well as CO2 and HCO3. Low HR could be related to that. – Jeff Apr 14 2012 at 5:50

To stabilize blood sugar you'll have to eat more sugar. Did you experiment with higher salt levels? If you are thin, you absolutely need to eat sugar. This sugar fear has to stop completely, I know quite some people around me that go low-carb and fuck themselves up. – Korion Apr 14 2012 at 9:31
