I'm trying to achieve ketosis, I'm carbs-free for two days. If I eat carbohydrate today(only this day, I want to lift weights for 30 minutes), is my ketosis objective will be back to zero? Meaning, do I need to count from day 1 again today for my ketosis objective if I eat carbs now?
I'm worried, because I read from many articles, ketosis can be attained only if you are carbs-free for three consecutive days. And one bite of carbohydrate will stop ketosis progression, hence need to start counting from day 1 again
Why do you want to eat carbs to lift weights? Unless your doing something extremely glycogen demanding I don't really see the need. If you were going to eat them easy them right after so they go straight to the muscles. I just lift while in ketosis.
I can slip into and out of ketosis daily just by monitoring my carb intake, perhaps you can test with the keto stix and try to determine what make you go in and out??? For me, under 50g carbs day does it.
When I was purposely trying to be in ketosis for fat loss, the keto stix helped work it out.....its not an exact science but a tool to help.
The body goes into ketosis when there are no carbs left to burn. If you eat some carbs right before a workout, they will soon be spent and you'll go right back into ketosis (unless you eat a huge plate of pasta or similar...). The point of the carb intake should be to fuel the workout, so only eat 10-50 grams (depending on how hard the workout is) and your ketosis should be largely unaffected after the workout.
