I just found about the Paleo diet a while ago and deiced to give it a try. However I have some question about. I read that you shouldn't eat any kind of potatoes including sweet ones for the first 30 day and fruit and nut especially if your trying to lose weight. The things is although I do want to loss some body fat % I do play soccer competitively and with the summer season about to start I was hoping that I would be able to to eat sweet potatoes after training and exercise and maybe eat one serving of fruit per day, as well as a hand full of nuts. Would it be possible from me to do so with out it hindering my weight loss goal?

There is nothing wrong with including potato/sweet potatoes/tubers/fruits/nuts as part of your 30-day Paleo challenge. Keep an eye on your serving and adjust them accordingly to how you feel and look! :)

The advice for a 30-day start is that it's very hard to work out what your body actually needs until you deprive yourself. It may or may not affect your weight loss goal, and it may or may not affect your sports. Try both ways and see what suits you.

I think you'll see huge benefit just from giving up bread, crackers, chips, cookies, candy, ice cream, soda, juice, vegetable oil, etc. My mostly uneducated opinion is, unless you have some specific health issue you're trying to solve for, start with leaving potatoes, fruits and nuts in your diet. That will make for an easier transition. I'm guessing you'll get the weight loss you're looking for fairly quickly, but if it doesn't happy quickly enough or you plateau too early, then you could consider eliminating other foods.
