Guys. I posted this in a response about sleep stuff, but I thought it could potentially help some guys out. I see some people stressing out about drinking O.J. or some shit to regrow hair? Tell that to my bald as a billiard ball citrus farming grandfather.

I was taking MgT for the mental clarity aspect of it and because I don't get enough Magnesium, this is just an added bonus.

Keep in mind its just one study, but hey it can't hurt right?

nice, does that form of Mg cause loose poops? The citrate sure does for me, but glycinate doesnt – Jeff Apr 19 2012 at 3:42
I don't think I have seen that type of Mg before. I take Mg as it is, hopefully Vitamin shoppe carries it. – primallykosher Apr 19 2012 at 4:13
thanks for the update Cory, both here & on your sleep post – daz Apr 19 2012 at 5:45
Yet another case where supplement > food. Are you serious. My butcher is fat but does that say anything really? It's strained OJ btw, and that's important, ask my belly. – Korion Apr 19 2012 at 6:21

fyi, by the way, that study is just on L-threonate by itself (not magnesium chelated to threonic acid) – daz Apr 19 2012 at 9:25

What concerns me about MgT is that it crosses the blood brain barrier far more than other magnesium supplements. But is that a good thing or a bad thing? We don't know for sure. Magnesium is important for brain health, synapses etc. but what we do not know is about the effect of this specific molecule in the brain. Perhaps with increased brain absorption you need less dose to get similar effects? It is unclear but looks promising. I have been thinking of taking it myself for montha but I am debating it because we have a blood brain barrier for

Think on the bright side, by having less hair on your head you have more surface area to get vitamin D! Haha. Every time I get a haircut I am amazed at how much more vitamin d I can absorb on my head.

Calcium l-threonate was found safe for Europe.nutraingredients.com/Regulation/… It goes without saying if you dont need it dont take it, why waste the $ right? – Cory151 Apr 19 2012 at 16:35

Plus threonic acid is a vitamin c metabolite, unlikely to be terribly unsafe. – Cory151 Apr 19 2012 at 17:44
