Does anyone know if the corn in chicken feed is genetically modified corn. I found a farm that feeds their chickens soy free meal. I know that chickens are adapted to eating seeds such as corn which is one of the basics in chicken feed. So that is OK but I was wondering what kind of corn they use.

Nearly all corn has GMO genes in it nowadays, even "organic" corn, albeit not intentionally. Genetic pollution has spread man-made genes extensively. There are studies showing that well off the beaten path in Mexico (the birthplace of corn) man-made genes are found in their heirloom varieties. The question is if GMO corn is bad. I'm not convinced it's terrible, but it's something that's unnecessary. |

It -can- be, they would have to read the feed bag or ask the feed store to verify. |

If it's not organic corn, it's very likely to be GMO. |

Unless you're buying chicken that is certified organic, most likely the corn is GM. Sucks, but it's the truth. |
