I am going to Tulsa, Ok this weekend for a conference, any good places for a paleo eater to go? I know there is a Chipotle, but I would like to try other places as well.
Two other places to try are the Tavern on Brady (http://www.taverntulsa.com/) and Kilkenny's (http://www.tulsairishpub.com/). As a word of caution, I should say that I am not paleo though my partner is and she alerted me to this post.
Tavern on Brady is a great restaurant using a lot of locally sourced foods. It's a little more expensive, but i think it's a great value. Last time I was there I got a pork chop and some vegetables. I would be surprised if they wouldn't make modifications to the extent that a dish is not paleo, but I would recommend calling ahead to ask about how a dish is prepared if you're nervous.
Kilkenny's is an Irish pub and restaurant that makes a lot of strong Irish dishes, believe it or not, but which also has a huge menu. The food is overall very solid. Last time there I got grilled salmon and vegetables, so a non-Irish dish. It was pretty solid.
I used to live in Tulsa and, a few years ago (when I was first toying with low-carb eating), I shot a film there.
I would suggest wandering to "Brookside" where there's a whole row of fun restaurants and shops. It's on Peoria Ave between 31st and 41st. Two favourites are:
