I have this horrible habit when I'm bored in which I check this site multiple times a day and look up nutritional questions that come to mind. It's more addicting than Facebook (I know, bold statement)

Anyone else finding this to be a problem?

PH beats Facebook as I have more in common with all the brilliant Paleo people here than with any of my facebook friends. – Jeannine Apr 25 2012 at 3:25
Agreed. Don't be offended when they shut your question down. I posted the same thing when I first got on here and they not only shut it down, they also deleted it. Welcome anyhow. – MeepsIsWellfed Apr 25 2012 at 3:43

  1. You are not addicted. The reason why you are coming back here is because we (humans) evolved to live in small groups (20-25 people) and need ongoing communication. Since these small groups shared the same activities, they had common topics to discuss (gossip, hunting, etc). Where I live, nobody knows about Paleo. If I brought up the subject, they would think I am crazy ( I have already tried). So the only way for me to communicate about my newly found lifestyle is to come to this place. I assume, the same goes for you.

  2. I also participate in two other discussion boards, based on my current interests. One of them is Korean culture. Since I do not know any other people within 500 miles radius who would be interested in the same things I am (and I am as far from being Korean as it comes), Internet is the only convenient and reliable place to discuss issues that interest me.

  3. I can prove to you that this is not an addiction. If your computer crashes (God forbid), you will be totally fine and very soon you will find a different group for communication. This website is just a cherry on top of your Paleo milkshake.

  4. I have learned more about nutrition from Paleohacks that I have learned from any other source. I am sure you did too. I am amazed with the amount of knowledge, wisdom, experience and common sense that Paleohackers exhibit. I have never met people as intelligent, knowledgeable and open about a new lifestyle in real life. And every time I share my experience, this is my way of contributing to the Paleohack community.

Have a great day, everyone! :)

I too am interested in Korean culture. Am looking for the ultimate recipe for breakfast egg custard also I love ethnic mystery novels. Do you know any with a Korean setting? or have a recipe for the custard anyone? I am totally Swedish/Norwegian/American. – Doris Apr 25 2012 at 11:56
Wow, Doris. Thank you for saying this. Now I don't feel so alone in my Korean obsession anymore. I only know how to make kimchi and bulgogi and the seaweed soup for breakfast. No mystery novels, sorry. I can only recommend Korean dramas - if you are interested, of course. <3 – VB Apr 25 2012 at 17:17

Yes, and here is my dilemma: keep reading paleo hacks or go to sleep since it is midnight and I have been up reading about the health benefits of sleep?

I'm watching robocop 3 and browsing this right now....

Edit: I think we're all in agreement this isn't really an addiction. I think of it more as positive reinforcement & an excellent resource for information.

I hate it when i check up on paleohacks and all the same questions are still on the front page.

I think its a subtle hint that maybe i should be doing something else with my time, maybe something more productive haha

Yes!!! I try to limit my being on this page to my free times in the evenings even though I'm permanently signed in on my mobile and Ipad. Then again I'm working and I'm on it so maybe I'm full of crap!

Yes, and a bunch of other blogs as well. I asked a similar question myself recently: http://paleohacks.com/questions/109736/have-you-become-a-paleo-junkie#axzz1t1Mf3cUy
