I began following a paleo diet at the end of August 2011. My menstrual cycle had been a steady 28 days for most of my life, but since December, all but one cycle has been shorter, typically 24 or 25 days long.
Has anyone else noticed a change like this? Could it possibly be related to my dietary change?
I'm 32 years old, and my diet before paleo included lots of bean or tofu based vegetarian foods and I would only eat meat a few times a week.
I've noticed my breasts no longer swell or get sore during the last week of the cycle. That change happened within my first month of eating paleo.
I plan to see a doctor soon to discuss this and other dysmenorrhea syptoms, but I don't expect the doctor to consider diet a factor.
I appreciate any insight you can share.
