I don't want to blame new beloved and newly adopted eating style, and I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but:

has anyone ever heard of dairy causing Tendonitis (of foot/ankle), muscle stiffness, muscle aches, muscle cramps, joint pain, etc.?

(I do realize that perhaps a more likely cause might be electrolytes (mag, cal, potassium, etc.).

I had eliminated milk completely, and periodically eliminated yogurt/kefir, but never eliminated my kerrygold butter (which I love, and doesn't contain much milk protein).

I know, the obvious answer here is to COMPLETELY ELIMINATED ALL DAIRY and see!

However, I figured I'd just see if there could possibly be a dairy connection.

Thanks for sharing, Mike

Hi, Mike. Yes, I have a really bad issues with tendonitis/muscle pain/joint if I consume dairy (among other issues with dairy - allergies, etc.). Once I went strict Paleo (vs. Primal). It tends to affect my hands, wrists, knees, forearms, etc. Interestingly (and thankfully) I have not had any muscle pain other than the self-inflicted kind from lifting heavy things since I eliminated dairy 100% from my diet. Well, except for the use of pastured ghee which is divine melted over hard cooked eggs (fried or boiled). If you tolerate coconut or almond milk well, it's not a big deal to get rid of dairy, really. Try it for 30 days - what do you have to lose except the pain? :)

Thanks Cheryl. I'm convinced. Robb Wolf over & over & over keeps hammering home the point to do it strictly for 30 days. It's good advice. – CaveMan_Mike Apr 27 2012 at 23:10
Let me know how it goes for you. I'm truly interested. Good lucky! – Cheryl May 1 2012 at 18:57

I get muscle spasms in my neck and shoulders whenever I have more than a tiny amount of dairy.
