Have any of you bought Vitamin K2 online from the states? On Iherb it says that Canada doesn't allow supplements that contain vitamin K. It also says not to buy supplements for more than 90 days but I've bought more than that and it always got shipped fine. If any of you Canadians buy K2 online, can you tell me where? (Another reason I'm asking is because I checked the reviews for the specific brand of vitamin K I wanted to purchase and there are 2 recent Canadians that have bought it apparently... Well in january lol.)Anyone with knowledge of customs operations/regulations and all that mumbo jumbo , feel free to contribute.

Have any of you successfully used iherb to order Vitamin K2 with more than 120mg of it per serving that live in Canada? I also want to clarify that on iherb it says that you need your doctor to order the "banned" things if you want it.

In you subject title you say "K2". In your subject body, you say "K". Which one is banned? Didn't you know they are 2 separate vitamins? – wildwabbit Apr 28 2012 at 15:57

K2 is not banned, but it is illegal to sell K2 supplements in Canada that contain more than 120mcg (I think) per serving. Absolutely ridiculous, I know. I think it has something to do with K's blood-clotting attributes and Canada classifying anything more than 120mcg as a drug.

I'm not sure what the rule is regarding bringing K2 over the border. I order this one online from a Canadian retailer - 120mcg K2 mk-7.

The products I wanted to buy had this label, so is it not okay or would it pass through customs? Serving Size: 1 softgel Amount Per Serving %DV Vitamin K activity 2100 mcg 2625% From: Vitamin K2 (as menaquinone-7) 100 mcg Vitamin K2 (as menaquinone-4) 1000 mcg Vitamin K1 1000 mcg Medium chain triglycerides (MCT oil) 215 mg ** Ascorbyl palmitate (antioxidant) 25 mg ** – Soul Apr 28 2012 at 17:16

It has vitamin K1 in it. Why not find a supplement that has only the K2's in it ? – wildwabbit Apr 28 2012 at 22:47

I don't think K is banned....

A google search for it, or for Canadian vitamin bans in general, shows a couple of forum posts but nothing in the news. – Sara S. Apr 28 2012 at 12:31

If that's true, thank God I moved from Canada to the US. Vitamin K2 is the most important vitamin I'll ever take. Canada is getting really f%^$#^ stupid about banning vitamins and supplements. They're trying to make it so that you have to get a prescription for many of them....yet the doctors there know absolutely nothing about supplements.
