http://www.ecorazzi.com/2012/04/27/scarlett-johansson-relied-on-raw-vegan-diet-to-become-avenger/
In this article, they quote her as saying "The thing is right before we started I was lifting all these weights and eating raw vegan. But the only reason I was doing that was to fix my previous diet because that was a Paleo diet."
Is that a true quote? Does anyone know what she means by fix her previous diet?
I'm guessing down votes are from those who feel we shouldn't waste so much time worrying about what celebrities do. Trust me, I'm in the same boat. I don't care about Scarlet Johansson per se, but articles like this are upsetting because they give mainstream a perfect reason to doubt paleo. I.e., Scarlet has a lot of money/resources/professional trainers etc and she chose raw vegan over paleo AND she got the results she wanted...
The comments below that raw vegan helps maintain a below healthy weight seem plausible, but then why was she also lifting weights? Would weight lifting slow the loss of muscle (and therefore weight/size)? Also, for the character she was playing wouldn't they be going for a small, but muscular build?
VB mentions in comments below that the article I linked above is simply not true and Scarlet actually ate a lot of fish. That seems to answer my question, but with the two competing articles, how do we know which is the truth and which isn't? The Ecorazzi links to an Irish Times article as a source, but then I can't find a source on that article.
FYI - here is link to Irish Times article which says the same thing:

I don't know how credible of a source Irish Times is, but in theory if the quote is incorrect, they can be forced to print a retraction?
