The last time I was put to sleep for outpatient surgery was 15 years ago and obviously wasn't concerned about my diet because I recall eating a giant Calzone with pepporoni, sausage, and cheese. I remember because it didn't stay in my stomach very long! Anyway, I am getting the snip on Tuesday after realizing two children are plenty and I don't want my wife to take birth control and using condoms is like wearing a rain coat in the Sahara! It's a quick surgery that last less tan 15 minutes, but they do knock you out. No food or water 8 hours prior and my appointment is at 930am. What's a typical protocol for food post surgery? Should I just stick to some bone broth? Should I use the day to fast or would that effect recovery of my jewels? And should I just stick to low carb until I am able to be active again?

My partner only had a local for his snipping. It seems odd that they're putting you under for it. |

Why are they putting you under? Do you have some special need? I ask because I just had it done a few months ago and I was awake the entire time and I barely noticed anything happened except for a instant tugging sensation, but after the local wore off I was certainly tender for a few days. Vasectomies do not need you to be put under. That said, I ate standard Paleo very strict, no 80/20, after my op. Purely to keep the inflammatory foods at barest minimum. |

My guy had a local and then we went out to dinner. You'll be fine. Have some frozen peas around. Anyone knocking you out for this is nuts. |

I got a staff infection after mine... Wow, that was fucking fantastic! Turns out that 10-15% of all "snip" recipients have that. Massive doses of Cipro and an "Oh, I'll take the elevator because living hurts!" fixed it, but what a pain! Keep meticulously clean until the incision is 198% healed and you'll be fine. |
