I can see the appeal of no 'poo and no soap (except for the prime areas). For those who practice and espouse this lifestyle, do you think the drying off process with a towel becomes much more important for the minor exfoliation it provides? Or do you just pat dry?

Hmm, dunno. I've never been a "pat" dryer, always done a good rub down. If I feel a bit "grimy", I use a washcloth to scrub, or even a scrub brush (which I have for my feet since I am barefoot most of the time). The back of my neck seems to need it. |

I think of this everytime I dry off after a shower. Hope it's true! |

I just exfoliate while still in the shower, sans soap, when I'm not using soap. I use an exfoliating Japanese/Korean bath towel that promotes blood circulation and it's great. It's pretty therapeutic-feeling. :D I dry like I normally dry. |

Exfoliation is surely not paleo? I think the point of no soap when showering is that you don't need it, the water will wash off any sweat and dirt, you don't see animals in the wild exfoliating their pores etc, I would not worry about it |

IMO, exfoliation needs to happen in the shower, not afterwards. I use an ayate washcloth to scrub my body. Ayate is a coarse, open woven cloth made of agave fiber, which is vastly more satisfyingly scratchy than loofah. |

I do the no poo thing. For body, I make a salt scrub with salts of various coarseness, baking soda, honey, coconut oil, and olive oil. I use this a couple times per week, rinse really well, and use my old shampoo to wash the floor of the shower when done. |

I thinkyour skin layers are there for a reason and apart from ano soapshower or bath with sea salt in it they should be left alone!apart fromprotecting you fromharmful solar radiation it seemsto stop wrinkles forming! I am often asked my 'secret' and people almost fallover when I say I havn't washed with anything but water for years!(and not often with that) |
