Eat more fat. 30g isn't nearly enough. I'm a medium frame female and I typically eat 80-100g a day. Lean cuts of meat matter most if you're getting conventionally-raised meat. If you're getting grass-fed meat, but cuts as fatty as you like. Eat fatty meat, avocado, coconut, tree nuts (not peanuts), olives, cheese if you tolerate dairy. Cook with pastured butter, ghee, olive oil, coconut oil. |

I find that eating avocados whenever I have nut butter cravings did the trick. |

I crave PB too - I can eat a whole jar in a day. I think it must be the fat or the carbs. It's the same thing with straight-up nuts: I'll eat a huge package and literally not be able to force myself to stop. My only solution is to avoid it entirely. Nuts and nut butter are not allowed in my house. Stinks but it's better than gorging myself on 2,000+ calories of PB every time I bring home a jar. |

It's really hard to give a definitive answer without seeing your typical menu but it could be that you're craving the fat that it contains. Are you eating enough fat in general? That could explain it. I know it's also not totally paleo but you might consider switching to almond butter just for the fact that peanuts are highly contaminated with aflatoxin. |

I do not know but I do know that when I first gave up wheat, sugar etc..natural "peanuts only PB" was the food that satisfied my sweet tooth. Unfortunately it did not pull it. This time when I restarted VLC I avoided PB and have had zero sweet/carb cravings. Likely the fat is what you want. |

I don't think it's the fat or the salt. I think there's something about nuts that make them very addicting to some of us the way wheat and dairy is to some. I rarely buy nuts or nut butters and never try to keep them at home. |

I just hope you're eating the all-natural kind, not the mass-market brands that have icing sugar in them (and are for that reason so much more addictive!) Also, have you tried switching to almond butter? Peanuts are not even nuts, they are a legume, which is not Paleo. Almonds are so much better for you. |

I wonder if you're allergic to it. Before I was diagnosed with malt allergy (30 years ago), I was eating a whole loaf of french bread for dinner. (yes, yes I was) This is how I've been given to understand allergy cravings: Your body needs some nutrient in the food (in the case of peanut butter, very likely the fat). Because you're allergic, your body cannot get that nutrient out of that food, and then you crave more (because you still need the nutrient). I'm certain that's way oversimplified, but it helps me to not eat things. NAET treatment is fabulous for food allergies. I LOVE me some peanut butter, but it does not love me. I miss it like crazy. And almond butter just doesn't do it for me. I'm gonna look up the referenced almond butter suggestion in here. |
