i do the INSANITY workout, and i was wondering if i would be sacrificing leangains/putting on bodyfat, if i was eating alot more food than usual on my rest day, because i feel like a bottomless pit on my rest days, by eating more i dont mean like junk food, i mean like more chicken, fruits, eggs, vegetables, etc

This may or may not help you, but when I get that "bottomless pit" feeling, I eat very high-volume foods that are low in calories. I can put away an entire head of lettuce with German mustard and a little bit of balsamic vinegar at one sitting, and still have room for a huge bowl of cucumber slices and some arugula. I use these things as binge substitute foods, but they might be helpful for you too because they really do make you feel very full without taking in a lot of calories. |

Everyone will work differently here, but think about what's happening on your rest days; your body is healing and building back up again, so it makes sense that you will want to eat a little more here. If you're sticking to good foods, I don't think you have anything to worry about. But do track your progress. If you find you're not leaning out like you want, then cut down a little on the fruit and up the fat a little. Try and fill yourself up. Give your body what it needs to recover so you can hit your workout the next day with everything you've got. |
