OK for the past week or so, immediately after I eat my first meal of the day (which is usually meat/eggs/bacon/veggies), I notice a significant increase in my heart beat and my head gets all dizzy (in a good way) and I feel really hyper and jumpy (in a good way) and I wanna laugh and scream and dance and hug people. I have no idea what it is but it's kinda funny and weird and I kinda love it but I'm also kind of confused so what is this new feeling I am feeling? I have not added anything new to my diet and I've been eating this way well over 6 months.

Who needs drugs when you've got Paleo? – April S. May 14 2012 at 20:00

April, got the same thing a couple of times when following Ray Peat's advice, but DEFINITELY don't get it after your kind of meal. High amounts of saturated fats help. I love that feeling, and the first time I got it I thought I was gonna have a huge low afterwards, but instead I just stabilized and became normal again. Wouldn't it be great if we all felt like this 100% of the time? – Korion May 14 2012 at 20:14

And the cool thing about is that I used to be VERY shy, paleo improved that, Peat made it even better, and when I have this I start to talk to everyone like crazy, I can't shut my mouth. – Korion May 14 2012 at 20:15

I cannot say I've ever had this kind of reaction. However, I recently realized that I would much prefer a bowl of steamed brussel sprouts with onion, coconut oil and garlic salt than a bowl of my favorite ice-cream.

And if I could have some broiled salmon with it, I'd be in absolute heaven.

That was when I realized I had completely converted to paleo. :)

Bacon seems to do this to me to.

How strange.

Paleo-ketogenic (up to 30-40 gr of carbs per day, and relatively low calories) brought bliss to me: http://eugenia.queru.com/2012/03/07/bliss/

Do you cook your breakfast in coconut oil or ingest MCTs before the elation period? Whenever I have a sizable portion of coconut oil, it always puts me in a really good mood, similar to what you mentioned. This is magnified if I add coconut oil to some coffee- talk about heaven!!!

I get the same exact thing with coconut butter. Though it also happens after a good, well-digested meal with protein. – Dan Sep 29 at 19:56
