I know there are several threads on paleo + pregnancy, but I haven't found an exact answer to this question. Hoping you all can help!
I have been doing some research on paleo and pregnancy for future reference and I haven't found a lot of solid sources other than blogs.
Paleo mom's out there: where did you turn when reseraching paleo + pregnancy?
Does anyone have any sources that I can read regarding following this diet while pregnant? I'm confident this is the most healthy way to be, but I would like to offer my husband some reading material to help him support my decision.
Thanks for your insight!
Peggy at the Primal Parent is writing a book about Paleo/Primal pregnancy. Not sure when it is coming out.
(Personally, I wish I could wholeheartedly recommend Chris' Healthy Baby Code, but we have a fundamental difference of opinion around recommending cod liver oil in pregnancy.)
This isn't "Paleo," per se, but Sally Fallon (president of WAPF) has an outstanding PowerPoint presentation on the nutritional needs for a robust, healthy baby. It's terrific. (You may or may not be interested in the dairy stuff, but you can pick and choose what you think is important. Certainly lots of good animal fats!)
Their page on overall children's health also has a couple of articles specific to pregnancy and breastfeeding. It'll keep you busy for a while! Again, not technically Paleo, but of course, a world apart from the USDA/FDA/typical OBGYN/pediatrician recommendations. ;)
