Eating SAD, I'd prefer a cake w icecream over a juice steak and asparagus any day. Now, of course, the cake and icecream is cut out, and I do pretty well w my meat and veggies, but sometimes., almost daily, I get the sweet-tweek-tick. I have cut out exotic fruits (i.e: bananas), so sometimes I'll eat a spoonful of almond butter, but what kind of suggestions would you have?

Honestly? Cold turkey (literally and figuratively). Stop exposing yourself to sweet foods and you might find that you've lost your addiction to them. |

Berries. BERRIES! I eat a ton of them. And there are all coming into season (in winter I buy the frozen kind and heat them up for like a berry-soup dessert). And if you are doing dairy, they are great with yoghurt. |

I love coconut oil and cocoa powder with a little splenda or stevia. its quick and you can add it to almond butter and bananas for a great snack. its not something I would have all the time but it is better than processed candy bars or ice cream. I have also heard of some people making there own ice cream with coconut milk in this forum..you might want to try that. |

Coconut milk in my coffee seems to help cravings for sweet things. Although, coconut would probably be counted as exotic too. xD It's probably better than caving into the SAD foods, though? I have been doing okay on a high fat diet so far.. but then again, I'm only on day five. O.o I'm just now starting to get those sweet cravings. I just had coffee with heavy cream (I'm out of coconut milk) and it seems to help a bit. |

I treat myself almost everyday with one cube of a raw chocolate bar (over 80 percent cacao) sweetened with gula java. I find eating raw chocolate really helps my sweet tooth, because the taste is so intense that you don't want to eat more than a tiny bit (sometimes I eat 3 cubes and that really makes my heart race). Also because there is no sugar in it, it doesn't wake the sugar craving. |

This will take patience and practice. It will take time to undo a lifetime of addiction to the sweet taste. Remove temptation from your house I find that eating high quality satisfying meals with plenty of beef, butter, bacon, balsamic vinegar and big ass salads, fills me up and eliminates the urge to snack period. |

As a newbie myself I find that when I crave sweets if I eat some sort of fat the cravings go away. It helps a lot with cravings for sweets. Good luck |

I've been at this for 6 weeks and am happy to tell you that the cravings subside! They really do - and I loved sweets as well. To get through bad cravings, I put a big of yummy raw almond butter on an apple or had a bit of raw chocolate as others recommend. It does get better! |
