Hi I'am 18 yo and I'am IBS sufferer.. I've done the test for the leaky gut.. but it wasn't alterate..it was normal.. I done also the test of the lactoferrin (it was normal ) so we ( me and my gasto ) can excluded an IBD. I DONT EAT : _DAIRY _ALL KIND OF CEREALS _NORMAL WHITE SUGARS

I started this diet from 1 week , I fell a little better but I haven't seen great results... Have you got some tips to give me?

It may take a while for your gut to heal enough to notice a difference. If you have an overgrowth of Candida, any sugar your eat feeds it, refined white sugar or not. – MathGirl72 May 17 2012 at 21:10

Paleo and supplemental magnesium have helped my IBS VERY much. I didn't realize it, but beans and uncooked vegetables bothered my digestion a lot. Bloating, gas, and constipation were the worst of it, along with nausea and a 'sick' feeling in my guts. Go completely paleo for a few weeks/months, then introduce one food at a time and see how you react. Then you can pinpoint offending items. – NewEra May 17 2012 at 21:18

Maybe try a GAPS protocol, www.gaps.me. This is based on a paleo type diet but with probiotics and bone broths added in. Like the other comments, I would suggest that healing the gut takes time and don't over do the probiotics at first. Good luck.

Wow, you're welcome. Funny thing is although I have been paleo for about 2 years and knew about bone broth and probiotics, I have only begun to incorporate both recently. I am really interested in promoting good gut flora for my wife and kids who are suffering a bad allergy season. I suggest you watch this video with Dr. Campbell-McBride who created this protocol. I agree with what people are suggesting, stay the course, give it time, lots of time.

Add bone broths to your diet, consider GAPS protocol for healing.

You'll need to get in tune with your body and really learn what bothers you, what doesnt, etc., this takes time and really tuning in.

Not everyone can take supplements so introduce them like any new foods. Just because its all natural or 'good' for someone else doesnt mean its good for you, but hopefully so!!

Have you gone entirely gluten free? - If not do it.

Are you still eating complex starches and sugars? (not just white sugar) You should read about GAPS or the SCD (specific carbohydrate diet). Focus on easy to digest foods (meat, fish, well-cooked vegetables), lots of broth, fermented foods/beverages. No matter what anybody tells you, right now fiber is not your friend.

Definitely. Anything over 70% messes me up good. And even 70% I need to eat with food. To me it's become an occasional indulgence at most. It's at least the caffeine but it could be other compounds as well. If I were you, I'd give it up for a few weeks and see if it helps your symptoms. – Kelly May 20 2012 at 22:57

Lauric acid, L-Glutamine and probiotics are helpful in repairing intensinal damage. Lauric acid is a fat found primarily in coconuts, so coconut milk will be great. Also considering supplementing with L-Glutamine. Buy the powdered form, so you don't have to take 20 capsules at a time, and drink about 20 grams at one time everyday for a week or two.

Avoid lectins. Get to know them, and avoid them as much as you can.

My point being is you don't see Mark Sisson, Robb Wolf or any other paleo guru "pushing" or promoting themselves here. That's great that you can help people, but if someone has more interest in you or your opinion or phylosophy they can simply click on your profile and find your link. While it may be true that you help many people, you are but one of many here. This whole site is dedicated to that end and that statement comes across as a little arrogant.
